Q. You're a professional composer? What does that mean?

A.  It means I dress like the guy on the right.  No, seriously though: it means I have the skills and the experience to create original music for your every need!

If you don't think you have a need for original music, think again.  Music is a part of all our lives in many ways that affect us very deeply, and in some ways that we don't even notice.  Whether you're doing something obvious like searching for a composer for your film score, or something not so obvious like trying to promote your company's product, the odds are good that my services can provide exactly what you want at reaso
nable (and flexible) rates.  Have a look:

A great match for....

Choir Directors / Orchestra Conductors:

You want to make your concert stand out by adding something brand new to the program.  (That means you're really good at what you do, by the way.)  An original commission is a fantastic way to showcase your ensemble's musical strengths, as well as increasing your good reputation in the artistic community. No billing attracts notice quite the same way as "World Premiere!"

Solo Musicians / Ensembles:

The standards and the classics are great, there's no arguing that.  But how about some music that's specifically tailored for your musical abilities?  A concerto to show off your virtuosity, or a solo to display your sensitive side?  Or just the chance to pick up a new piece that no one's ever heard before?  Whatever your instrument and skill level, I'll work with you to create something new to delight you and your audience.

Church Musicians / Worship Leaders / Music Directors:

What do you do when you need a special piece for that special occasion?  When you can't find just the right worship song to fit with the message?  When you need a fresh anthem that your choir hasn't done to death?  When you wish there was a really good arrangement of that certain hymn tune?  When you know you could get some musicians interested in playing Sundays if only you had some pieces for organ, three violins, bass, and harmonica?  Hint: find somebody who knows how to write it for you.  My church music experience covers a wide variety of denominations and traditions, and I'm comfortable in styles from Palestrina to Bluetree.  What's your musical prayer request?

Movie Producers / Directors:

Whether you're an up-and-coming independent filmmaker or an established producer, nothing says "My film is intelligent, professional, and should be taken seriously," quite like an original score, custom-written especially for your project.  (And nothing says "I'm an amateur on a pathetically low budget" quite like throwing together some stock loops in GarageBand.)  To make your work stand out, you need some quality music!  I'm willing to help bring your artistic vision to life with whatever you're looking for, from a melancholy piano solo to full-blown orchestra cue for studio players.  I'm also willing to work within your budget and deadlines.

Businesses:

Anybody who grew up in Chicago can tell you the phone number for Empire Carpet, because it was put to a great catchy melody.  Wouldn't it be great if your product, brand, or company had the same instant recognition?  Whether you want a catchy jingle melody or a background score for your advertising spot, I can write to your specifications without expensive agency fees.

Ministers:

You're looking for someone to lead worship for a special service or event.  You like my style.  This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Venue Owners:

What's that? You want some soothing piano styling to give your evening just the right ambiance?  What a great idea.  Live music makes any event that much classier.  Have your people call my people.  (OK, I'm my own "people" but I've always wanted to say that.)

Lyricists / Poets:

You'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony... if only you had a good tune to go along with your words!  Now, I'm not making any promises, mind you, but if you think your words deserve some good music I am willing to have a look at them.  Hint: If the tune in your head sounds like a power rock anthem, country love song, or rap, you might be better off collaborating with someone else.  (Just being honest.) Listen to the music on my SoundClick site to see if you think my style(s) would be a good match.  If so, we'll go from there.

Composers / Songwriters:

Congratulations, you've written a great tune!  But you wish it could be properly transcribed into readable, professional notation, instead of just the recording on your pocket device.  Or you need someone to make a good chord chart so your band can play along.  Or you'd really like it arranged for piano, or string quartet, or orchestra, or violin, or three saxophones.  Or maybe you just want some advice on whether the bridge is the right length.  I can work with you to help make your piece as great as it ought to be, and you'll still get full credit on the "Original music composed by...." line.

So what do I do?

First, you should listen to some samples of my work, to see if you think my style(s) would be a good match for you.  Check out my play list.

If you like what you hear, drop me a line.  To get in touch with me, the simplest method is the "Contact Me" link to the left.  Give some specifics as to what you're looking for, some contact information, and we'll go from there.  Thanks for considering me!
